offers to its guests incredible fishing action around Thailand with some of the biggest and strongest freshwater fishes in the world.

We have access in fact to various venues in the countryside around Thailand, to the Chaophraya and Maeklong rivers and to breathtaking reservoirs around the country such as Cheow Lan Lake in the Khao Sok National Park or the Khao Lam Dam in the Kanchanaburi region which will provide you with memorable fishing experiences.

Among these venues Bungsamran is a twenty acres converted swamp which today is one of the most extraordinary fisheries in the world which can be fished in full comfort even in a break while touring Bangkok or for one or more days, 24 hours a day.
Giant Mekong Catfish from 15 kg to 100 kg, Striped Catfish from 5 kg to 15 kg, Chao Phraya Giant Catfish from 2 kg to 30 kg, Giant Siamese Carp from 20 kg to 100 kg, Amazonian Arapaima from 110 kg to 200 kg, Pacu from 2 kg to 9 kg, Giant Snakehead from 4 kg to 15 kg, Rohu from 2 kg to 10 kg, Small Scale Mud Carp from 1 kg to 10 kg, Hoeven's Slender Carp from 1 kg to 8 kg and many more Thai species can be found here.

We can also organize fishing trips in other private lakes and in the Chaophraya and Maeklong rivers in the Bangkok region for some of the strongest and biggest freshwater fishes in the world such as the Arapaima, Red Tail Catfish, Aimara and Alligator Gar.

Other venues instead will provide some action on light spinning or fly fishing targeting mainly Pacu, Barramundi and the elusive Giant Snakehead.

For the first two the action is fast and furious and can be literally non-stop. As far as the Giant Snakehead is concerned, for those who love sight fishing there is really nothing else to compare it with.

In this regard The Big Blues can organize as well incredible fishing guided trips for spinning or fly fishing enthusiasts around the country, where you will fish in an extraordinary environment sleeping either on board of bamboo floating bungalows or in private huts while fishing on your boat with your own private guide in full contact with the surrounding nature.

We do also offer itineraries tailor made for the cat & carp fishing enthusiasts (Ebro fishing style) targetting species such as Goonch, Julien Carp, Thai Masheer, Asian Redtail and other local Thai carps both in the rivers and lakes.

The Big Blues can arrange fishing trips to these waters which include a private English speaking local guide, transport and accommodation and will give you the opportunity as well to visit some unusual and out of the track spots in Thailand.

As far as fly fishing is concerned all customers are requested to bring along their own fishing gear and and that all our freshwater fishing venues are strictly "catch and release" only.

• These ponds are located just a short drive from Bangkok and Pattaya and are located in a rural area surrounded by lush farmlands. Some of the ponds consistently produce large 15-30 fish hook-ups of hard fighting Barramundi to all anglers fishing with us at this venue. A daily fishing trip to these venues in Thailand is the perfect option for lure anglers and fly fishing enthusiasts staying in Bangkok or Pattaya with short time at their disposal for fishing.

• The canals are located along the Meklong River in the Amphawa area not far Bangkok. You will be casting from the boat among some dense vegetation. Pitching, flipping and skipping casting tecniques will be required with a good level of accuracy. The fishing will follow the tides. In the break of the fishing and particularly during the weekend it will be possible to pay a visit to the local worlide renewed floating and train markets.

  • Two hundred and eighty kilometers North West of Bangkok deep into Kanchanaburi province lies Khao Laem national park (package D). Khao Laem national park host to an abundance of flora and fauna and habitat to countless species of animals. Khao Laem National Park is a place of immense natural beauty with various rivers, waterfalls and magnificent limestone peaks reaching in the excess of one thousand eight hundred meters. With a length of over sixty kilometers at its longest section and over twenty five kilometers at its widest Khao Laem Dam is a wonderful location to fish and a truly magical destination.
  • Package D is for a minimum of 3 days/2 nights and includes the following: VAT tax, transport from/to the hotel in Bangkok, fishing boat (long-tail) with guide, full assistance of The Big Blues English speaking guide, accommodation either in a floating bungalow or local guesthouse and of course lures and the use of first class fishing gear.

  • Great experience in a unique location for adventurous anglers! Cheow Lan Lake is located inside Khao Sok National Park. approximately 2/3 hours drive from both Phuket and Krabi. This man-made lake (160 sq km) with its floating raft houses is surrounded by huge limestone mountains of over 1000 meters, the oldest evergreen rain forest in the world, amazing wildlife (wild elephants, otters, deer, wild boar, macaque, gibbon, langur monkeys, water buffaloes, bears, Asian wild dog, leopards) and flora (i.e. the world's largest flower Rafflesia which reaches over 80 cm in diameter). The lake was made by flooding a huge valley and has a depth in some areas of more than 100 meters. The trees submerged in this lake have created a great habitat and structure for a large population Big Toman (Giant Snakehead) Featherback, Rohu and Hampala Barb. The jungle base camp consists of basic floating raft houses made from locally obtained sustainable materials so there is no TV or air-conditioning. A great fishing experience targeted at adventurous anglers who are prepared to stay without the daily comforts for a few days! The beauty of the location at the base camp with the sounds of the jungle around you and of the Gibbons is an experience that you will never forget!

  • Fishing from the boat or from the shore with dead and live bait for Barramundi, Bull Sharks, Barracuda and various types of Rays and Catfishes.
  The above package is for a minimum of 2 days/1 night and includes the following: VAT tax, transport from/to the hotel in Bangkok/Pattaya, fishing boat (or not depending on weather, sea conditions and request), full assistance of The Big Blues English speaking local guides, accommodation nearby the fishing area and of course baits and the use of first class fishing gear (rods 50-100 lb with Penn, Shimano and Accurate reels).
  • Alternative packages are available with a minimum of 2 day/1 night.
  • It is mandatory to be physically in good shape to fight some of these fishes since sometimes fights can last several hours.

  • The above package G includes the following: VAT tax, fishing licence for 1 rod per angler, transport from/to the hotel in Bangkok, full assistance of The Big Blues English speaking local guide and of course lures and the use of first class fishing gear.
  • In case of package H anglers will have the chance to fish with bait for monster size Arapaima and Giant Siamese carp.
  • This venue offers the visiting angler the chance to fish for both Carp and Catfish species in addition to the Arapaima and other predators in relaxed and pleasant surroundings close to the stunning white sand beaches of the nearby Gulf of Thailand.
  • In case of package H in the event that a large Arapaima or Pirarucu is caught several guides are required to assist in the landing, releasing of the fish. The fishes will not be weighed or removed from the water under any circumstances after capture due to their delicate and fragile nature and will be released after having completely recovered from the stress of the capture.
  • In case of package H anglers will experience the amazing sight of numerous large Arapaima or Pirarucu of well over two meters long which regularly surface at various intervals round the lake! Anglers will be equipped with one rod with a Shimano Baitrunner reel loaded with 60lb braided mainline. Heavy fluorocarbon shock leaders are used then in conjunction with circle hooks or live bait patterns with various live baits or dead baits mounted or hair rigged onto the hooks.

  • Bungsamran Lake is a twenty acre commercial fishery located on the outskirts of Bangkok in the bustling urban district of Ban Kapi. It has a rectangular shape with variable depths of 25 ft. Anglers have the option to fish off the boardwalk that cuts through the middle of the lake of rent out one of the many private bungalows on the side.
  • The above packages includes the following: VAT tax, fishing licence for 1 rod per angler, bait, transport from/to the hotel in Bangkok / Pattaya, full assistance of The Big Blues English speaking local guide, catch guarantee and of course the use of first class fishing gear.
  • In case of package L , M and N a Thai style bungalow with a double room with air condition, toilet and cable TV is included.
  • 2 packs of chumming are included.
  • Non-fishing guests welcome free of charge - with the exception of extra accommodation if required.
  • Food and drinks are cheaply available at the local restaurant and coffee bar and delivered directly to your private bungalow; fishing gear, extra bait and chum can be purchased over there as well.
